In many of Isaac Asimov's robot stories, Susan Calvin is U.S. Robots' chief robopsychologist and the one who solves the problem of why the robot is behaving strangely. She is also plain and severe and likes robots considerably better than human beings, saying in one story "Robots are essentially decent."
