Creative genius working for Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He should be the one directing SNL instead of Lorne Michaels.

He writes and performs some of the best comedy on Late Night with Conan O'Brien including most of the satellite interviews (most important: Bill Clinton - Yeeehaw!). He's also the voice of Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog.

He was also sued by Pets.com over remarks he made on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Smigel (rightly in my opinion) claimed that Pets.com ripped him off, because they used a sock puppet dog in their commercials that was very much like Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog.

Smigel also now has a very funny show on Comedy Central called TV Funhouse. Today's Christmas episode included animal puppets of all types snorting Christmas spirit off a mirror in the form of a powder.

And as a side note, I think Pets.com is out of business. Smigel laughs last I guess.
