OK, so I've only been on the net a couple of times in the last few weeks, so I guess that this will probably end up being a holiday log.
To begin... I went to a birthday party for a friend of mine... we went go-karting, which was heaps on fun, then back to her place for pizza, a video and some serious dancing in the rec room. Then, we had a bit of a DAM (deep and meaningful), and got home at about 1am.
The next day was hideous, but I've already mentioned it... how I had to play the piano in a concert at my ex's place. I played so badly!
No. I'm not going to do this day by day. Forget it. I'm just going to rant and ramble.
I've done some charity work, for a couple of hours at a local supermarket with a friend, and that was actually quite fun. On another day, that same friend and another went into town with me... some serious shopping and the Tomb Raider Movie. Niiiiice! Then, I went back to my mate's place, and coughsampledsomeheavydutyalcoholcough, then we rang up various guys and girls for no particular reason.
The next morning, I had to babysit at 8:30. Ow. For two days. Double ow. Three girls. Triple ow. Barbies, Movies, cleaning out fish tanks, Boomerangs and Piggy backs. They're great kids though...
Being the good little pseudo-nerd that I am, I've done some study and my homework (at my parents' insistance though!).
But then my cousins came out from Australia!
An endless round of parties, restaurants, BBQs and wine. Did I mention wine?!? The adults averaged 5 bottles a night for a week! And us minors didn't even help very much! But the best thing was definately the flight. We got to go on a little twin engine to Queenstown (NZ's "adventure tourism capital" or so they say), and went up the gondola, did the luge, had lunch and returned. On the way there, we did a scenic detour over the Southern Alps. That'll never happen again, and I'll never forget it.
Now, it's back to school. Groan. More endless lectures how our final exams are in less than two months, as if we didn't know!
I found out last night that somebody has copied my brother's website and is using it as their own... and may try to sell his programming! I'm trying to come up with a mass-flaming, because I'm not going to let somebody get away with that! Watch it, cheater.
Isn't it strange how somebody decides that daylight savings time occurs the day before you go back to school, when it could have been in the middle of the holidays so students could adjust to getting up an hour earlier? Go figure.
Finally, I'm really worried about a friend of mine. She used to be so much fun (and could be reading this, haha!), but now she's depressed all of the time. Everyone is worried about her, and everyone expects me to know what's wrong... and she won't tell me. I've had teachers ask, parents ask, students ask... our group are all sick to death of all of the crying and yelling. It's got so bad that the 'cool group' have even left their self-centred worlds for a little while and considered taking her to a councillor... that's got to be serious!
We just don't know what to do.
There's nothing wrong with her life. She doesn't ring us, and we have to censor everything we say in case it sets her off.
I'm just so sick of it. I know people who actually have problems who are happier than her. One of the people I admire the most has had a really bad life, but she's happy all the time, works really hard and got herself a scholarship. I give up.
I saw (apart from Tomb Raider) Almost Famous, Cool Runnings and Gladiator. Very cool. And I bought Enrique Iglesias for US $3 in a spontaneous waste of money, and convinced my parents to buy Kenny Rogers and The Beatles. I've also nicked off with their Cat Stevens and Jackson Browne CDs. All very nice.
So that's basically it for the last two weeks, and I'm sorry, I know this is supposed to be a day log but I just got a bit carried away. I've also updated my site a bit, and my RPG is officially closing on the last day of this month. Very sad, but it's for the best I think, and Tristan, my American partner in this RPG agrees.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
