| A game played when I was a child, similar in many aspects to Red Light, Green Light. One person plays 'mother' and everyone else is at the starting line, a fair distance from the mother. Each player takes a turn. Mother specifies a number and type of step a player can take, for instance, "2 giant steps." The player to move must ask, "Mother, may I?" and get permission before they move. If they forget to ask permission, they must return to the starting line. The first person to reach the mother is the winner and becomes mother for the next round.
Not nearly as exciting as your garden-variety tag, but with a lot more Orwellian conditioning involved. |
