Baseball team which began its history as "the first Washington Senators" as opposed to "The Second Washington Senators" who became the Texas Rangers. After their relocation to the Gopher State after the 1960 season, the Twins played at Metropolitan Stadium, which was a pretty natural grass field located in suburban Bloomington. Unfortunately Minnesota is not noted for pleasant weather conditions particularly in Spring or Autumn, and so a new indoor park was built in downtown Minneapolis called the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, which may be the loudest stadium in all of baseball. The Twins have won two World Series, in 1987 against the St. Louis Cardinals and 1991 against the Atlanta Braves. Each time they had home field advantage and won all 4 games at home, while losing the three games at the National League park.
