The architypal poet character in Hyperion and other Dan Simmons books. Somewhat obsessed with The Shrike and John Keats. When he was a young man he took a slow transport and had a stroke while in suspended animation which reduced his vocabulary to a half a dozen profane words which he used to communicate and compose poetry (of course he later regained full use of language).
