| Improvisation guru, playwright, and creator of several formats for theatrical improvisation performed internationally: TheatreSports, Gorilla Theatre, Micetro Impro, and The Life Game.
Professor emeritus at the University of Calgary. Teaches at the International TheatreSports Institute in Calgary, Alberta. From 1956 to 1966 he worked at the Royal Court Theatres in England, writing and directing plays, and running the educational program. He created an improv troupe, the Theatre Machine which toured Europe, and taught at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 1974, he began teaching drama in Calgary, and founded the Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary in 1977, where he was artistic director until 1997.
