Jules Feiffer is a
Cartoonist,
playwright; born in
New York City. His
satirical cartoons first appeared in
the Village Voice in
1956 and immediately established themselves as the quintessential images of
bohemian/
neurotic New Yorkers; the cartoons became nationally syndicated in
1959; and in
1992 he became a regular contributor to
The New Yorker. He also wrote several plays, including Little Murders (
1967), and filmscripts, notably
Carnal Knowledge (
1971).
