"The Killer" was born on Sep 29,1935 in Ferriday, Louisiana. Like his cousin Jimmy Swaggart (Mickey Gilley is another cousin), he studied to become a minister. He cut his first record for Sun Records in 1956; married a 13-year-old in 1958 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. Lewis was arrested in 1976 after shooting at a bottle, missing, and hitting his bass player. Lawdy. |
