An Internet Relay Chat (or IRC) user who is not of IRC operator (Op) status. An IRC pedestrian can be slapped about by operators on a whim. They are often kicked from IRC channels by uttering too many punctuation marks and are generally ignored for mentioning anything even remotely related to the channel topic.
