A computer company founded in the mid-1970s to create clones of the Altair 8080. Ultimately, with its machines losing ground in the marketplace, Chairman Bill Millard funneled company resources into building the Computerland chain of retail computer stores. Though Computerland was a success, Millard was successfully sued for hundreds of millions of dollars for underhanded business dealings, and went bankrupt.
