The Hong Kong-Shanghai Banking Corporation is the founding company of the HSBC group. It is one of the largest financial organisations in the world. The original HSBC was founded in 1865 to finance the growing trade between China and Europe.

The HSBC Group, as it is now known, is a huge organisation comprising over 5000 offices in over 80 countries all over the world. It's head offices are in London, England. It's shares are listed on the London, New York and Hong Kong stock exchanges, where it has some 180,000 shareholders.

They are the main sponsor of the Jaguar Formula 1 racing team.
