| When the orginally Free Willy trailer was released in the UK in the early 1990s, it unintentionally provoked hysterical, booming, uncontrollable laughter and sniggering in British cinemas amongst parents and children alike who were waiting for the mega-blockbuster Jurassic Park to start.
This was due to it's "Free Willy" title and motto, being combined with the tortuously boring 10 minute long trailer suddenly climaxing to the young boy shouting "We've Got to.....FREE WILLY!!!!"
For anyone not in the know, Willy is British slang for penis, so in effect the British audience heard the equivalent of - "We've got to.....FREE A PENIS!!!" - thus provoking much schoolboy giggling about why the poor restrained penis of the movie so desperately needed to be released. |
