Among the
Huichol Indians it was traditional during the
birthing ceremonies for the man to squat in the
rafters above the woman as she labored. A
rope was tied around his
testicles and the woman was encouraged to
pull on it everytime she felt
pain, so that the
male could participate in the glories of
child birth.
