1955- American Ambient, Experimental musician and record producer. Worked on more than 300 albums. Creates sound collages using recordings of ambient sounds that he remixes in the studio. 1990 he formed Axiom Records which freely across perceived lines of culture, geography, genre, and generation. Made extensive field recordings of musicians in Africa and Cuba, later remixing the tapes. Many criticized him for mixing cultures together.
