Nickname for Star Trek character Doctor Leonard McCoy, the chief physician aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise. Played by DeForest Kelley.

"Bones" is a contraction of the archaic slang term for doctors, "sawbones".

Here's guitar tab for this song. It's actually fairly easy to play, very repetitive. There are some rakes and other stylistic stuff in there, but those are best learned by listening to the song I think.


Figure a is played twice for the intro, and then three times on the first verse:

The next verse is very similar to the first, but in the places where the A chord had the suspension (the 2nd fret going to 4th), they palm mute. This first figure is also only repeated twice, versus 3 times on the first verse. It looks like this:

Japanese anime studio responsible for such classic series such as Cowboy Bebop, Vision of Escaflowne, Rahxephon, Angelic Layer and lately Wolf's Rain. The studio, which was founded in 1998 by former Sunrise producer Minami Masahiko (Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Wataru, etc), resides in Tokyo's Suginami ward. In fact, a lot of the main names at Bones where formerly working at Sunrise, so you see a lot of similarities between their works, and even some title overlap.

Bones is active in all kinds of anime productions, be it TV, OVA, game or theatrical productions. At first they just co-produced their anime with other companies, but since Rahxephon they have also created anime of their own. And thus far, all the series they worked on were of a very high quality both in respect to animation as well as in creating an interesting story and characters and therefore managed to create a huge fan base waiting for the next Bones release. Their current release, Wolf's Rain was eagerly awaited and after the first couple of episodes promises to be all that.

Bones is a TV series. It was first described to me as an American version of Silent Witness with some martial arts and a "mainframe" with a 3D holographic display.

Characters

The main character, Dr. Temperance Brennan (played by Emily Deschanel), is a forensic anthropologist who is apparently so good at her job that interesting cases involving dead bodies from anywhere in the USA are frequently sent to her lab (or she is sent to the field). She is proficient in martial arts to the extent that she can beat anybody up unless the plot would be more entertaining for her not to be able to. She has no social skills, doesn't know much about popular culture ("I don't know what that means" could be her catchphrase), and should never, ever be given a gun.

Booth (David Boreanaz) is an FBI agent who frequently works with Brennan and her team. He used to be a sniper and shot many people in his time. He could be described as the normal one in the series.

Zack (Eric Millegan) is a young genius who has several degrees and is working on his PhD while training under Temperance. His social skills are about as good as his boss'.

Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) is a conspiracy theory buff and is the member of the team most into piracy (the gold doubloons and eye patches variety).

Angela (Michaela Conlin) is an artist who uses her mainframe (with its 3D holographic display) to do just about anything from facial reconstruction to simulation of events to Christmas trees. She's the least geeky of the cast.
