A group of activists opposed to capitalism, and in particular, the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). The CLAC (Convergence des Luttes Anti-Capitaliste) is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and is helping to organize a carnival against capitalism during the Summit of the Americas. From April 19-22 there will be conferences, workshops, protests, direct action, street theatre, and other creative events. This is all in opposition to the principles of the FTAA which is to be negotiated by economic and political leaders of the western hemisphere. |
