A large company whose principal product is the manufacture of porcelain commodes and basins. Most public restrooms in the United States display fixtures from American Standard. Their motto is "bathrooms made for the soul".

Personally, I get a feeling that oscillates between amusement and sarcasm when I set myself down on the U-shaped seat inscribed American Standard:

Jurph notes that throughout the Cold War, the toilets in the Kremlin were branded American Standard. It is unknown if this is because the brand predated the revolution.
