| Insult applied by legendary Clemson University football coach
Frank Howard to the University of Virginia football team. UVa,
an ACC rival to Clemson, lost
its first 29 games against the Tigers. The Wahoos only ended that
streak in 1990, the year UVa blitzed to a 7-0 record and #1 ranking
before losing to Georgia Tech 41-38 and spiraling downward to
finish 8-4 with #15 (UPI) and #23 (AP) rankings.
To this day, the first insult offered by a Clemson fan to a UVa
fan on a message board is usually "white meat." |
