A mocking term for affluent young deadheads or other hippie revivalists marked by various staples -- Patagonia, marijuana, and dreadlocks (usually white). Inspite of the dort and nature aesthetic, other cultural signifiers include expensive consumer electronics (Sharper Image anyone?), or extreme sports equipment (REI junkies).
In the 90's Trustafarian had a seperate meaning in London where it labels the equally endowed and idle, but more stylish residents of the one West Indian Notting Hill section. |
