I remember the first ASCII porn I got, if you can call it that. it required a huge (40K) download, then needed to be printed out on a dot matrix printer. It was worse than one of those damn magic eyes.
For years we just occupied ourselves with new infocom games, Wizardry, AppleWorks, Turbo Pascal, ZipZap and the rest. Because we all had (mostly) mono monitors, teeny bandwidth and a guilt complex. Then one day erotic stories appeared. Hastily and furtively typed in, they served to rally the forces. and the forces got organized.
warez don't pay, porn is now where it is today.
That's why I like everything so much. short of describing your amour in ASCII, we are forced to clarify, condense and focus. the imagination is back where it belongs.
