I just got a new car 2 weeks ago, (it is a Peugeot 206) and it still has that new car smell. When will it cease to smell like a new car? I have some theories, based on past experience.

That new car smell will dissapear when one of the following occurs:

1. The car has travelled roughly 1600 kilometers, or 1000 miles.
2. The car is over 2 months old (regardless of distance travelled or number of journeys).
3. Someone spills a foul liquid in the car. Particularly evil liquids to spill are milk and vomit

"New Car Smell" is largely the smell of evaporating plasticizers in the upholstery. Without plasticizers, many plastics can be very hard and brittle.
