A set of statements that, while individually consistent, in combination lead to one or more unsolvable paradoxes. A trivial example:

The following statement is true.
The preceeding statement was false.

Strange loops form the basis of the double-cross system and, when used promiscously, lead to a wilderness of mirrors and cognitive dissonance.
