One of the crazier expressions of whitewater paddling. In this sport, the paddler navigates down steep rivers and creeks, which in some cases have never been run before. This often involves bouncing off rocks, falling over waterfalls, and occasionally stopping to look at a section before you fall down it. The rivers which are used for this activity are typically rated V or above on the International Scale of River Difficulty. This is not a sport for anyone but advanced paddlers.

Benefits of this sport include an incredible view of (usually) unspoiled wilderness, massive adrenaline rush.

Hazards of this sport include drowning, paraplegia, quadraplegia, and brain damage.
