The tiny
drums that are part of a set of
tenors. They are usually no more than 8" in diameter, if that. They are mounted inside the
arc of the four standard
drums of the
tenors, putting them in the ideal position for
male percussionists to play them in a way that only guys can. Spot drums produce the highest range of
pitches in the
tenors; their
sound in
drumspeak is "deek" or "teek".
