A hastily-assembled wedding between a man and a newly-pregnant woman - at gunpoint, if necessary. Not as prevalent since The Sexual Revolution, this despite an increase in the US shotgun population; now there are more single mums (one might say AFDC made this a more sensible option for some), and less shame (for those who do marry) in going to the altar in a white maternity wedding-dress. Some couples wait 'til the kid(s) can be part of the ceremony.

Before the shotgun, and into the 19th century, they refered to this sort of wedding as a knobstick wedding.
