Pont de l'Alma is a bridge on river Seine, in Paris, France. It takes its name from a battle won by the French in 1831. On the left bank, you can visit a sewer museum. On the right bank, there is a replica of the flame of the Statue of Liberty. This is the place where Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed died in a car wreck. But the most popular thing about the bridge is a statue of a Zouave (a kind of French soldier in Africa in the 19th century) on one of the pillars. The statue is used to measure the water level in the river: when it rains a lot, the Zouave will have his feet or his knees in the water.
