A manuscript sent out by monasteries and convents upon the death of an important member of their community. Information about the life and death of the individual was written on a parchment roll, which was then sent around to all the houses of the same order. At each house, a prayer for the soul of the deceased was inscribed on the roll by a resident scribe.
