| Where I come from originally (Prince George's County, Maryland), a magnet program is a special program at a public school to make it more attractive so that that parents from outside the school's neighborhood will find it more attractive. This will lead them to send their child to the school, and in the process aid in racial desegregation. I spent years in the TAG magnet program. |
