Ah...

Dreams, my dreams are real and intense and lately full of colors
I've never seen before
In voices from behind the sky
They tell me of a feast called life
And leave me feeling empty

In life, my colors are muted or gone
My edges are indistinct
It might feel like drowning
Perhaps swimming in air
A flat world somehow round from a distance

In seconds I think of a heartbeat gone by
In minutes, the sky's become cloudy
In hours, the day has long since become night
In days I've been dreaming of heartbeats.
