The nurse at the Health Department was really nice
when she explained why they needed a blood sample,
why they needed a urine sample and
why I needed to fill out all the forms

The doctor was sorta nice
when he asked his long list of questions
although he didn't say much
during the exam.

The receptionist was nice
when she asked me to go to the room at the end of the hall
where they told me I wasn't a teenager any more-
I was a mom.

Everyone was nice,
considering.
