Harpo Marx in most of the
Marx Brothers movies and performances. The facial
contortion is as follows:
eyes crossed,
cheeks puffed,
tongue out.
As a child Harpo borrowed this expression from a neighborhood cigar maker who used to cross his eyes and stick out his tongue while applying his trade. Harpo would often stand in front of the man's shop and make the face back at him, to his great annoyance. The man's name was Amadeo Gucci, but he was called Gookie by the Marxes.
Later used by Wakko of the Animaniacs as a direct reference to Harpo.
