A mini-pillory designed to hold one or more fingers and designed to punish or torture wrongdoers. The top bar of the device would be closed tightly at the knuckle onto a finger bent at a right angle pointing down. Until the bar was opened, there was no way for the finger to be removed. It is said that, after only a short time, most victims of this device were in incredible pain.
