The mist that descends over ones vision as time suddenly becomes elastic and proprioception starts to fail. The mist is induced by excess (or sufficient depending on your standpoint towards recreational alcohol abuse) alcohol intake. The drunken haze produces both a direct effect; a blurring of the vision and a an indirect effect on perception. This indirect effect is most often noted when trying to assess the attractiveness of a potential partner. See also beer goggles.
