Virtual telepathy. The net is begging for the ability to send your thoughts directly to another person via fiberoptics. Better than ICQ, better than feedback chairs, we want to plug in directly to what others are thinking, seeing and feeling. Interface bigtime.

When we can network each other's neurological system then we will be putting this system's potential to full use. Until then we are just playing table hockey.

euthanasia.

barring that, a focus on a new medium that lends itself less to self-indulgent stupidity. at this point, it would be impossible to improve from within the current structure much, as the concept of the net has been conjoined in the minds of so many with ebusiness and pr0n. people know what works now, and they're not likely to drop it in favor of more interesting projects like everything or jodi.org. no, we require something new that will force dignity (and accountability) down its users' throats.

the only real alternative is for us all to become luddites.
