This was Holly's theory on the British comedy television show Red Dwarf. He postulated that the reason our universe was so messed up was that we were actually going through time in the wrong direction. This was explained in more detail in the book by Grant Naylor (the creators of the series) entitled Better Than Life, where Holly has the crew send an aged Lister to a parallel universe so that he will age backwards and regain his youth.

The Trolls (Silicon-based life forms) in Terry Pratchett's Discworld Universe believe something similar to this - That we are traveling through time backwards. The reasoning is thus:
