London, England.
Woodworker until
WWII, at which time he was assigned to the
Education Corps in the
Royal Army. After the War, continued working in the wood
production and
converting industries. Joined
Mensa in
1950, became
Secretary in
1953, introduced the entry requirement of
proctored testing. Helped establish
chapters in over 20 countries. Established
American Mensa in
1961.
Authored several
books about Mensa under his own name, and continued writing for the
timber industry under the the name
Victor Serry. Served as
Honorary President of Mensa from
1982 until his
death on
January 1, 2000.
