This is the only slogan I can think of relating to
Think locally, act globally and
Think globally, act locally. See, both of those have flaws, but this doesn't.
Thinking locally but acting globally presents many problems. If you're thinking locally then you won't be thinking about the results worldwide. For example, if I decide to set off a
tactical nuclear missile in my hometown, it's thinking locally. However, it would upset the
American government undoubtedly. The government would probably research where I got the missile from and
attack the country it attributed the missile to. This would lead to
problems globally, and therefore my actions would be global.
Thinking globally but acting locally would obviously mean that my
global plans won't succeed. It's like giving one
homeless person a dollar to try to get rid of poverty.
Thinking globally but not acting means that I can't fail. My actions are still just ideas. It's like
communism--if nobody had tried to use it, it'd still be the best form of government around. If I want to take over the world, it still has potential until I try to rise up against the government. If I do, I probably get arrested and sent to jail for
treason. It's a failure. So I urge you, DON'T ACT. It's the only way most of your ideas won't fail.
