When you push yourself at high speed across that smooth vinyl floor of your office while sitting in your chair, you will likely find that this law applies to you, as you slam into a desk, a coworker, or your boss, in which case you may have to find another office to play office hockey in.

You may also find that some chairs roll better than others. I find myself rolling smoothest in chairs from Herman Miller or Haworth; most of my momentum gets quickly converted into heat in the crappy casters if I'm sitting in one of those $50 Office Depot deals.
