Superstylin'

This was the first single from Groove Armada's fourth album. Blending the laid back grooves, and heavy beats that this group are known for together in the one song; It flows from a chilled intro with trumpets and hollow throbbing bass-line, into upbeat house with ragga vocals.

If you ever need a reason to see Groove Armada live, then this song is it. Come see all the people pogoing as beats build, explode, then contract and start all over again. Recorded as only a second over six minutes long, this song is definitely a favourite of both the crowd and Groove Armada, being extended past 15 minutes at some live performances. Unlike some electronica acts, the boys of GA do their live shows with a full band. The effect is absolutely stunning, and really has to be heard to be believed. With band, vocalists, and synth on stage superstylin' is aptly reproduced reflecting the recorded sound, with extra kick and bounce.

' From the moment the trumpet fan fair started to play, announcing the intro to Superstylin' Groove Armada knew they were on a winner. The crowd were already bouncing up and down before we had even got to the bass pumping chorus. And when the bass finally did kick in, it was as if the whole place had turned into some sort of convention for epilepsy sufferers, as people hurled themselves all over the place. '

The lyrics to this song aren't very clear, as they are sung ragga style into a mic fed through a synth. Vocals are sung by MC's M.A.D and M.G who are also seen laying down rhymes in the video clip, as two roadies roll a large bass bin around town.

Song by Groove Armada, from Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub), 2001

Inspirational song (echo)

Enter in the dance, plug it in and we begin
Crowd up in the centre then watch me dip it in
Watch the way we drop it in a mixed timing
Rise and amplifying when we come in with the swing

Just following the back and naturally harmonising
Climb into position with synchronised things
Live from out the ghetto, we maximise it
Sound of the groove armada, with superstylin' (echo)
With superstylin' (echo and repeat)

chorus

Sometime can you feel the pressure does unwind
Sometime into the day and through the night
Sometime you can make our pressure does unwind
Sometime It's for your spirit and your mind
Sometime

That's how we drop it on up on the line
One time lyrics that must stick on your mind
Pop a bass-line, and we'll prop and provide
My MC Supa, I'll go double on the right (echo and repeat)

(chorus)

Come on operator make the music play in time (echo)

Baby lets recline (echo)

Worldwide (echo)

(first verse and chorus)
