the story behind this song and this 'band' (one guy, wasn't it?) is a terribly sad one. for several months, people would come into cd stores and beg for the single 'i've been downhearted baby,' only to be told no such single existed.
primitive radio gods released an album after the song had been getting radio play for quite some time. and the album sucked. it was horrible. so prospective customers were invited to purchase a soundtrack (the cable guy) on which the song appeared, and they did, and were happy. then everyone got sick of the song (see heavy rotation) and it didn't matter anyway.. |
