The Southland Conference is a NCAA Div. I conference. It was formed in 1963 and has under gone many changes. The member institutions compete in a wide array of sports including basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis and more. Within this league is the Southland Football Conference it is made up of 6 full-time members and 2 football only members. All 8 football teams compete at the I-AA level.
