Some things Sensei has tried to teach me

Patience.

To be a river and not a rock.

To allow the problems to flow around you and not try to stop the problems with force.

To bend when the wind blows the hardest.

To hold your tongue when it would seem so obvious that a scream will do the most good.

To try and teach instead of argue.

To say something nice to a person when you know in your heart that they hate you.

To be kind and gentle when you know in your heart that it will likely do no good.

To smile in the gift of the little things.

To take comfort in the smallest of words.

To cherish the moment.

To love someone you will never meet.

To not think that one can control the world, or indeed, control your creations.

Grow.
