Shibuya-kei is the latest Japanese pop craze. The musicians who sprung forth from the consumerist feeding frenzy that is the Shibuya district of Tokyo were given this name. Their influences are disparate, from Burt Bacharach to urbane hip-hop. It's also some of the cutesiest music ever. It's a view into a place where the girl-groups never ended.
