The landing site for the Mars Pathfinder was at 19.33 N, 33.55 W in the Ares Vallis area on the planet Mars. After its landing on July 4, 1997 the Mars Pathfinder site was rechristened the Carl Sagan Memorial Station in memory of the famous astronomer.
