An excellent addition to
potato
es in any form, this sauce also goes well on virtually anything you would normally put cheese over.
½ cup finely chopped
onion
1 clove
garlic
, minced
2 tablespoons
butter
2 Tablespoons
All-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon
black pepper
Dash of
salt
1 ¼ cups of
milk
½ cup shredded
cheddar
cheese
½ cup shredded
smoked gouda
cheese
In a sauce pan cook onion and garlic in butter till
tender
and translucent, but not brown.
Stir in flour, pepper and salt. Add milk all at once.
Stir until
creamy
and thick
Add cheese and stir until fully
melted
. Serve immediately.
