To resile has two related meanings:

to shrink back, recoil
to spring back or rebound - literally, as in an elastic body resuming its original form or position, or figuratively, as in recovering quickly from a shock or illness.

The verb resile is less common in everyday speech than the noun resilient, though the root is the same.
