The
formula known today as Rescue Remedy was originally used by
women in
Victorian England for
stress relief (it is rumored that
Cate Blanchett used it at the
Oscars when she was up for
Best Actress). However, it is now often applied to
dogs. The formula can be
pipetted into the dog's mouth (Rescue Remedy can be bought for dogs in a
bottle that comes with the
proper tools for this) and allow the dog to
relax. The degree of
relaxation is proportional to the amount of
Remedy given, and
Rescue Remedy is
safe even in large amounts (i.e.
overdose is very unlikely); however
success is also dependent on the individual dog, as well its
breed.
