The
Fourth of July festival held in downtown
Columbus, Ohio on the riverfront. Red, White & Boom! has been held since
1986 and has grown to be more of a
festival every year since them. It's essentially an all day event held on July 3, with
concessions, live music, games and other
entertainment. The
fireworks themselves are done by Sunset Fireworks, Ltd. out of
St. Louis and claims to be the largest Fourth of July fireworks display in the
MidWest. A live
soundtrack is broadcast on a local radio station to accompany the fireworks, which of course always ends with
God Bless the USA. It's a pretty good time, if you can tolerate being packed
downtown with around 700,000 people. If not, it's broadcast live on
television for your home viewing enjoyment.
