A feature in the V.92 protocol, from US Robotics. The modem 'remembers' line conditions from previous connections to that POP, and, if they are the same as before, allows the modem to bypass the training squence of the connection handshake, saving a (reported) 50% of your handshaking time. Big Whoop.. like saving 10 seconds every day is big of a deal.
